Scholarship by the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India

the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India is offering eight scholarships for admission to Oxbridge this year.

The two scholarships worth Rs one lac each, tenable at the University of Oxford/Cambridge.

one scholarship worth £1000, tenable at Fitzwilliam College,  cambridge.

one scholarship for Rs one lac (the Jack Gibson scholarship) tenable at Sydney Sussex, Cambridge.

two scholarships worth Rs two lacs (the Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose scholarship) tenable at Christ’s College Cambridge for doctoral studies as member of Christ College Cambridge one of the physics and another for biology.

requirements: all applicants must have secured admission to the University of Oxford or to the University of Cam bridge.  They must not be more than 26 years old is on May 1, 2009; hold Indian nationality, ordinarily resident in India with a clear intention of returning to India after completing the course of study at Oxbridge; be a graduate of an Indian university with late schooling done in India.

candidates for the Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose scholarship must have a consistently outstanding academic record and a masters degree in the relevant discipline.  Applications are also welcomed from students trained in physics, computer science or mathematics, who wish to do research in biology.  Further details on web site
