Goa board’s higher secondary school certificate ( HSSC) supplementary exam will begin on June 29, 2011. This is the first year when students who have failed in two subjects in the Class XII exams will be answering the supplementary exam. The new concession given by the Goa board of allowing students who have failed in two subjects to answer the June supplementary exam will permit students to seek admissions to higher classes during the current academic year itself once they clear the test.
The supplementary exam for all the four streams will be held at two centres – Margao and Mapusa – from June 29 to July 1, 2011. The exam will be conducted at D M’s PVS Sarojini M Kushe Higher Secondary School at Assagao and in Margao it will be held at R M S Higher Secondary School. Allowing students who have failed in two subjects to answer the supplementary exam has doubled the numbers of students answering the test this year. A total of 1,845 students are set to answer the exam, which includes 931 boys and 914 girls.
“In case of any difficulty, students can contact Subhash Kauthankar and Konnanawar who are conductors of the exam at the Mapusa and Margao centres. Students can also contact the Goa board of secondary and higher secondary education on 2417593,” a press release by the Goa board said. The process of reevaluation of answer sheets by the board ended on Tuesday. Students who wished to appear for the supplementary exam lined up at the Goa board’s office in Porvorim till noon for their revised scores.
Re-evaluation of answersheets being a new concept introduced during the current academic year saw a huge response with close to a thousand students applying. Re-evaluation allows students to get their answer sheets reassessed as against verification of marks where only the marks already allotted are recounted.
