Justice PR Ramachandra Menon issued the order in this regard on a writ petition filed by an engineering aspirant’s mother.

The petitioner, K Saheeda, challenged the decision to take into account the marks obtained in the qualifying test in addition to marks in common entrance exam (CEE) for admission to engineering courses.

According to the petitioner, prospectus published by CEE had inserted a new clause which was not in existence. The inclusion was “arbitrary” and “illegal” and the same had not been made applicable to other courses, she submitted.

Programmes namely, Software Engineering, Engineering Physics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Automobile Engineering with the intake of 60 each from the current academic session 2009-10.

Out of the total seats, 85% seats meant for the candidates belonging to Delhi region shall be filled on the basis of the merit/rank of the CEE-2009 conducted by Delhi University and 15% seats meant for the candidates belonging to Outside Delhi region shall be filled on the basis of the merit/rank of AIEEE-2009 conducted by the CBSE and declared eligible for counselling. Admissions will be made from amongst those, who will apply on the prescribed form strictly on the basis of Rank of CEE-2009 for Delhi region seats and AIEEE-2009 for outside Delhi region seats.

The application form can be obtained from the Reception Counter, Administrative Building, Delhi Technological University, Shahbad Daulatpur, Main Bawana Road, Delhi-110042 in person on all working days from Monday to Friday between 10.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. on submission of a Pay Order or Crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 500/-. OR The application form can be downloaded from the DTU website: www.dce.edu and submitted alongwith a demand draft of Rs. 500/- on or before the last date for receipt of completed application form.

The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Registrar, Delhi Technological University’, payable at ‘Delhi.’

Last Date for receipt of request for supply of Bulletin by Post is 2nd  April, 2009 (Thursday). The complete Application form can be submitted by 10th  April, 2009 (Friday) (5:30 P.M.). Duplicate admission ticket will be issued on 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th May, 2009 between 10:00
A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in case the applicant does not receives the original one.

Combined Entrance Examination (CEE-2009) will be conducted on 30th May, 2009 (Saturday) (9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.) at various centers. Date of Declaration of result of CEE-2009 is scheduled about 2 weeks after the conduct of examination. The applicant can apply for  rechecking of result of CEE-2009 Within 7 days from the date of declaration of result of CEE 2009 on payment of Rs. 100/-

The application form for admission will be available from DCE/NSIT Immediately after declaration of CEE result. The details will be published in leading newspaper by DCE/NSIT some time in 2nd/3rd week of June 2009. The counseling for admission to B.E. courses for both the institution i.e. DCE/NSIT will be conducted by the Admission Committee, DCE/NSIT.
Closing date for admission to B.E. courses is 31st August, 2009 in DCE/NSIT.
