First KVS Junior Science Olympiad (KVS-JSO) – 2010

In order to nurture the talent among students in Science at an early stage, there is a need to introduce a scheme in KVS similar to the scheme available at  national level.  To identify the talent in Science, there is a scheme of Indian National Jr. Science Olympiad conducted by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), Mumbai.  The Jr. Science Olympiad programme at National and International level is organized in 05 stages. ( See Annexure-B)

2.    The details of the scheme and guidelines have  already been circulated vide this office letter of even number dated 14th January, 2010

3.    Keeping in view the schedule of activities for National Standard Examination on Junior Science (NSEJS) conducted by Indian Association for Physics Teachers (IAPT) certain changes in the schedule of the KVS Junior Science Olympiad have been done so that the students can be trained and maximum number of students participate in this prestigious exam.  In supersession  of guidelines circulated vide earlier letter mentioned at para-2 , fresh guidelines are  sent herewith ( See Annexure – A)

4.    A sample paper of NATIONAL STANDARD EXAMINATION IN JUNIOR SCIENCE 2009 – 2010 conducted by  INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICS TEACHERS  along with answer key  is also enclosed ( See Annexure-C & Annexure-C-I) For more details on scheme can  be downloaded from HBSE/IAPT website : http://olympiads.hbcse.tifr.res.in/subjects/junior-science/ http://www.iapt.org.in/

5.    KVS expects that each regional office and Kendriya Vidyalaya give wide publicity among all the teachers, students of KVs so that maximum number of students register for this Olympiad.
