CBSE to Conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET on June 26, 2011

As per guidelines of NCTE under RTE Act the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi is going to conduct first Teacher Eligibility Test on June 26, 2011. The CTET will bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process.  It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards and it would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality.

APPLICABILITY

  1. The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, etc) and schools under the administrative control of UT of Chandigarh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
  2. CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
  3. Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.

Frequency of conduct of CTET and validity period of CTET certificate:

The CTET is presently being conducted annually. The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years for all categories.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET Certificate. A person who has qualified CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score.

    we have being tring to send online application for CTET from 2 to 3 days. iam not able to find the application form. i want to know whether cbse will detect the mistake and provide remedy for it.

  • Hi, I have passed the TGT & PRT both pre-examinations (exam held in Feb 2012). As per recent notice, I have  to appear for CTET examination. In this regard, I would like to know 
    1) I have  to apply separately for CTET Examination ?2) Or application and sending demand draft procedure is exempt or not for TGT & PRT qualified students.
    please guide me in the matter.

    I am Akhilesh Kumar Bhaskar I am Very much confused about the TET Exam That I have completed My Graduation with B.com (P) in 2007 form D.U. With 42% Marks .Could I apply for the TAT that I have got the Detail from the Amar Ujala News paper that B.cpm Candidate can apply for TAT but there is not full information about the B.com Candidate

  • I am B.com,M.com and CA inter and am teaching in an unaided CBSE school in Kerala for the classes 11th & 12th both accountancy & Business studies.

    Is it compulsary for me to pass this CTET if school becomes an government aided school? If yes , when and where will be the exams conducted and what will be the syllabus?Please reply to me in detail.
