Admission notice 2010-11

Applications are invited for admission to various courses stated below from the candidates of the Northern Region Comprising Chandigarh (UT), Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Wards of the employees working in the central government/autonomous central government institutions and posted in the northern region can also apply.

Forms can be obtained by hand or post on depositing an IPO for Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only) drawn in favour of the Principal, Regional Institute of Education, Ajmer (Rajasthan)-305004 and payable at Ajmer along with a self-addressed envelope (26cmx20cm) bearing postal stamps of Rs 25/-. The application form can also be obtained at the institute counter through payment of Rs 100/- either by IPO or cash. For more details refer to the institute’s website www.rieajmer.ac.in

Information about different courses is as follows :

B.Sc-B.Ed (four years) (124 seats)

Eligibility for admission: Senior secondary or equivalent examination passed in 2010 or 2009 with minimum of 50% marks having the subject combination of either Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry and Biology

B.Ed (Secondary) (two year) (124 seats)

Eligibility for admission: B.Sc with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Botany, Zoology and Chemistry with minimum of 50% marks, B.A. with minimum of 50% marks and with any two subjects, out of any two combinations from the following three; Hindi/English/Urdu studies as optional subjects; Geography/Economics; History/Political Science.

M.Ed (Elementary Education) (one year) (31 seats)

Eligibility for admission: B.Ed or equivalent examination with minimum of 50% marks in education theory papers (Relaxation by 5% marks for SC/ST candidates)

Selection: Based on merit according to state-wise quota
Reservation: SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC 27%, and Physically Handicapped 3%
Tuition fee: Rs 250/- per month (SC/ST exempted)
Scholarship: All SC/ST and 50% out of remaining students shall be eligible as per NCERT norms
Hostel facility: Separate for Male and Female candidates
